This adult peregrine was spotted and photographed while it was perched on a fence post eating a small bird. The photo shows the bird looking a bit more blue than I would expect, but I did a color correction on the photo and thi is what I got. The portion of the back and wing in the sun loks more gray like i would expect compared to the wing in the shade. I googled their feather coloring and got things like ""dark slate-blue back and wings." I also read they exist on all continents, except Antarctica, and that there are color variations.
