Bobcat, Point Reyes National Seashore

Photo of a male bobcat hunting for gophers.

I spotted this male bobcat just before sunset.  He was kind enough to give me eight minutes of his time before he wandered off.  I was hoping he’d stay until the sun had set, maybe even give me a little blue hour time, but any time I get with a bobcat is a blessing.

  1. I love this picture. I was walking on the Alice Eastwood road to Muir Woods and spotted a bobcat. It began to trot towards me. I stopped, it stopped. Eventually, it trotted by me within 6 feet, undaunted. What a treat!
