Hawks and Fall Migration, Point Reyes National Seashore

Red-tailed Hawk, Point Reyes National Seashore

When fall comes around and I think of Point Reyes, two things come to mind — the elk rut and the hawk migration.  This red-tail let me get fairly close.

  1. Love the pose of this red-tailed! It is really fun to see all the raptors in the park during the migration. Just driving towards the outer point on Sir Francis Drake can lead to so many great raptor encounters as they line the road on the fence posts.
