Hi John. I used a Canon 7D camera and a Canon 500mm lens with a 1.4 tele-converter.
You got a great one there, Jim! I know just what you mean about there *not* being anything there. I recently found myself in the most beautiful golden light — maybe at the same time you saw this coyote — but I could find no subject to immortalize on film. I thought it was such a shame at the time, but I’m glad you caught it.

Great colours and subject. Shooting with the 5d often yearn for the extra reach of the 7D’s cropped sensor.
Thanks. I shoot mainly with the 7D, but sometimes need a full frame sensor camera. Life has gotten more complicated and costly in the digital era.

Beautiful shot, Jim! The lighting in this shot does really look nice, and it especially makes the coyote’s eyes stand out. Really nice setting for it too — the long grass really looks good.
